Surface quality
The surface is the sheet's first protection against the environment and is important for appearance, light transmission and service life.
Glass fibre reinforced sheets are exposed to sunlight, UV radiation, precipitation, air pollution, dirt and large temperature variations throughout their service life. An effective surface protection helps protect the polyester and glass fibre reinforcement from this impact.
Halle Lux can be manufactured with a protective Melinex film that provides highly effective surface protection and helps the sheet retain its properties for a long time.
A good surface layer contributes to:
- high and long-lasting UV protection
- reduced yellowing and chalking
- maintained light transmission
- an even and easy-to-maintain surface
- reduced impact from dirt and air pollution
- better protection of polyester and glass fibre reinforcement
The difference between different surface qualities is therefore often not noticeable when the sheet is new. It becomes clearer after several years of exposure.
Surface quality determines not only how the sheet looks today, but how it performs and looks after many years of use.
